How long do we store your data?

In some places in this privacy policy we inform you how long we, or the companies that process your data on our behalf, store your data. Where no such information is given, we store your data until the purpose of the processing no longer applies, you object to the processing or you withdraw your consent to the processing.

In the event of an objection or withdrawal, we may continue to process your data where we have compelling legitimate grounds for doing so, where the processing serves to assert, exercise or defend legal claims, or where we are legally obliged to retain it. In such a case, we will delete your data as soon as these conditions no longer apply.

Data transfer to the USA

To operate this website we use our hosting provider Vercel (see section “Hosting”), which may transfer your data to the USA and process it there. With the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, the European Commission has adopted an adequacy decision establishing that certified US companies ensure an adequate level of protection for personal data from the EU. Insofar as no adequacy decision applies, we base the transfer on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (SCC). A change to the European Commission's decision cannot be ruled out.

Objection to data processing (Art. 21 DSGVO)

Where we base the processing of your data on Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. f) DSGVO (legitimate interest), you have the right to object on grounds relating to your particular situation; this also applies to any profiling based on these provisions. If your objection is directed against direct marketing, no justification is required. Following an objection, we will no longer process your data unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds or the processing serves to assert, exercise or defend legal claims.

Withdrawal of your consent

Many data processing operations are carried out on the basis of your consent. You may withdraw consent already given at any time, without stating reasons, with effect for the future (Art. 7 Abs. 3 DSGVO). The lawfulness of the processing carried out up to the point of withdrawal remains unaffected.

Right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (Art. 77 DSGVO)

If you believe that we are in breach of the DSGVO, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority — in particular in the member state of your habitual residence, your place of work or the place of the alleged infringement.

Data portability (Art. 20 DSGVO)

Data that we process automatically on the basis of your consent or in performance of a contract will, upon request, be handed over to you or to a third party in a common, machine-readable format. Where you request the direct transfer of the data to another controller, this will be done insofar as it is technically feasible.

Information, deletion and rectification (Art. 15–17 DSGVO)

You have the right to receive free information at any time about your stored personal data, its origin and recipients and the purpose of the processing. Where the data is inaccurate, you have the right to rectification; subject to the conditions of Art. 17 DSGVO you may request its deletion.

Restriction of processing (Art. 18 DSGVO)

In certain situations you may request that we restrict the processing of your data — for example while we verify the accuracy of contested data, or where the processing was unlawful but you request a restriction instead of deletion. Restricted data may — apart from being stored — only be processed with your consent, for the assertion, exercise or defence of legal claims, for the protection of the rights of another person or for reasons of important public interest.

How do we process your data?

The host stores the data of our website. This may also include personal data collected automatically or through your input — in particular your IP address, the pages accessed, names, contact details and enquiries as well as meta and communication data. When processing the data, our host follows our instructions and only processes the data insofar as this is necessary to fulfil its performance obligations.

On what legal basis do we process your data?

As we use our website to approach potential clients and to maintain relationships with existing clients, the processing of data by our host serves the initiation and performance of a contract (Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. b) DSGVO). Beyond that, it is our legitimate interest to provide a professional, secure and fast online presence (Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. f) DSGVO).

Server log files

The provider of our website automatically collects and stores information in so-called server log files, which your browser automatically transmits to us. These are:

This data is not merged with other data sources. We use it solely to ensure trouble-free operation and for error analysis. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in the technically error-free operation of our website pursuant to Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. f) DSGVO.

Cookies and local storage

Our website does not use any tracking, analytics or marketing cookies and does not integrate any third-party analytics or advertising services.

Beyond that, our website currently uses neither cookies nor local storage mechanisms (e.g. localStorage) that require consent; a cookie notice is therefore not necessary. Should technically necessary storage mechanisms be used in the future, we will provide information about this at this point.

The legal basis for any technically necessary storage is Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. f) DSGVO; insofar as consent is required, Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. a) DSGVO, which you may withdraw at any time with effect for the future.

Performance measurement (Vercel Speed Insights)

We use Vercel Speed Insights, a service provided by our host Vercel Inc. (see the “Hosting” section). The service measures the actual loading performance of this website during real visits — the so-called Core Web Vitals, such as loading time, responsiveness and layout stability. We use it to detect technical problems and to keep the website fast and stable.

Technical measurements are collected per page view, including the page requested, the time of the request, device type, browser, connection quality and an approximate region of origin. The service sets no cookies and stores no data on your device; it therefore does not require consent under § 25 TDDDG. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a technically flawless, fast and stable presentation of our website (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). As the service is provided by our host, the same basis applies to any processing outside the EU as described in the “Data transfer to the USA” section; the data processing agreement concluded with Vercel also covers this processing.

Contact form

You can send us a message via the contact form on this website. We store your message and the details from the form (including first and last name, email address, telephone number where applicable, company, request and your message) in order to process your enquiry including any follow-up questions. We do not pass on this data to third parties without your consent.

To deliver form enquiries to our mailbox we use the email delivery service Brevo. The provider is [MARCUS]: insert Brevo's exact legal entity, legal form and full registered address from the provider's official legal pages (registered office in France, EU). The data you enter in the form is transmitted to Brevo and delivered from there by email to our mailbox [MARCUS]: confirm target mailbox — info@eci-meyersoehne.com is intended. The provider does not use your data for advertising purposes.

We have concluded a data processing agreement (DPA) with the provider pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR. [MARCUS]: conclude the DPA or confirm that it is in place and — if the provider processes data outside the EU — extend the “Data transfer to the USA” section accordingly.

We delete your data as soon as your enquiry has been conclusively processed, you request its deletion or you withdraw your consent — unless statutory retention obligations prevent this.

Insofar as your enquiry is connected with a contractual relationship or serves pre-contractual measures, the legal basis is Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. b) DSGVO. In all other cases, the processing is based on our legitimate interest in the effective handling of enquiries (Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. f) DSGVO) or on your consent (Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. a) DSGVO).

Enquiry by email, phone or fax

If you contact us by email, phone or fax, we store your message and your contact details in order to process your enquiry including any follow-up questions. We do not pass on this data to third parties without your consent. The same principles as for the contact form apply to the storage period and legal bases.

To ensure a uniform display of typefaces, we use web fonts (Source Serif 4, Source Sans 3 and Newsreader). These fonts are embedded locally on our server (self-hosting). When you access our website, no connection is established to third-party servers — such as Google Fonts; no personal data is transmitted to third parties in this process.
